I am so glad that I have these three subjects to increase my vocabulary or else I would not know about starcasm, subicious things, or how to express I am getting mad without saying "I am getting mad". I am so lucky. I can't wait for my next lesson and figuring our which one will be the teacher.
If you know me you know, I am a physicist mainly because I am only good at a couple of things. One of those things is math. In fact, I am excellent at math. In case you avoided physicist while in college, I will let you know that physics is just applied math. I am not good at understanding what the great Robert Forest means in "The Road Not Taken". Silly me, I think it is about a man who picks one road over the other. Physicists do not realize or understand that it some how is about a man making a life changing decision and how important it is and the consequences of each path. Who knew? I like my books with more equations than words. My brother used to ask "how can you read that book with all those equations?", and I was thinking "How can you read a complete novel without equations?". Anyway I am also do not have a complete vocabulary although I do know some unique words. My subjects in my most grand experiment commonly use words I don't know. For example, DP replied to me with a "No!" one time when it was clearly obvious the answer was yes. I looked at him oddly and he replied "That was starcasm!" I have never heard of starcasm. I have heard of sarcasm, but wow I learned something new. Jr. has taught me some words too. His most recent was delivered while I was looking at my phone at the table. He came up, looked at me, and said "There is something subicious going on here." What in the hell does that mean? I know suspicious but never heard of subicious. Apparently, they sing this on The Backyardigans. However, my favorite is the saying that Lu taught SuperMom yesterday. Lu was doing something on her phone and it wasn't going well. After a few sighs, she stated "This is starting to piss me off!". SuperMom asked "What did you say?". She replied with "I said this is starting to piss me off. It means this is making me mad." she explained. SuperMom unlike me has an extensive vocabulary, and replied "I know what it means, but why are you saying it?" The conversation then proceeded to how inappropriate that phrase is for an 11 year old and how Lu was not to use it. I am so glad that I have these three subjects to increase my vocabulary or else I would not know about starcasm, subicious things, or how to express I am getting mad without saying "I am getting mad". I am so lucky. I can't wait for my next lesson and figuring our which one will be the teacher.
