So the subjects are all growing up. Even Jr is starting to do the same things DP has been doing on electronic devices. One of those things is playing computer games or games on the phone, etc. Last Wednesday the subjects were out of school but I still had to go to work. During the afternoon, Jr was playing on my computer, either doing some school stuff (iReady or math) or just playing a game. I needed to complete a form on my home computer. This happens some times, so I am set up with my laptop at work to log on to my home computer, and do what I need. I can control the mouse and open and close files etc. So on Wednesday, I did this. I logon while Jr was on the computer. I would open a program and he would close it immediately. I would try to do something and he would undo it. So, I decided to explain to him that I had logged on and what I was doing. I clicked on the link at the bottom and wrote "DP, I need to do something on the computer for a few minutes. I will give it back when I am done." See, I thought it was DP mainly because how quickly Jr was closing my programs. While I am using the computer, the pointer for the mouse is moving across the screen and I am opening files and saving stuff. So Jr. sees the mouse moving, programs popping up, and then the message to DP and yells out to SuperMom. He yells, "Mom the computer is doing a bunch of crazy stuff and calling me DP." He was actually scared, because he didn't know what was going on and why the computer was calling him the wrong name. Oh well, SuperMom explained it, he lived and now he knows that the computer isn't haunted. Good thing he never saw the movie Poltergeist.

So recently, Jr and DP have starting to listen to songs on the iPod that I let them play games on. One of the songs downloaded on the iPod is Ozzy's Crazy Train. I have commented in the past how Jr knows all of the words to Crazy Train and Ozzy is his favorite singer. However, we have a new development with his fondness for Ozzy. Apparently, the album cover shows up on the iPod when the songs are playing. Crazy Train was on the Blizzard of Oz album and the image below is one of the images shown when the song is playing. Now, I am sure it isn't obvious in this picture. However, Jr noticed something. So, yesterday while driving to a friend's house, Jr ask SuperMom and me, "Do you know what the best thing about Ozzy is?". Of course, we don't know. So Jr says "he has his name O-Z-Z-Y on his knuckles. The picture below shoes this better. Being funny, SuperMom says "Do you know what else has four letters in it? Reid R-E-I-D. So that might be Jr's first tattoo. I hope not but only time will tell. DP, my very unique son recently turned 9 years old. Therefore, I will dedicate this post to him and the trouble he gets us into. The first one is almost unbelievable. So apparently, in the 3rd grade gifted program, the teacher uses various ways to keep the children excited about learning and expressing themselves. One such way is by using the birthday bear, Robin. As you can see, he is a lovely looking chap. The teacher gives a student whose birthday is coming up the bear to take home for a weekend or a couple of days. The student has to write about the adventures of Robin, like going to a birthday party, etc. However, when Robin visited our house, he has so far had a not so pleasant experience. Yesterday, DP was instructed to place Robin up in his school bin. He complied, but accidently the door to the closet that holds the bins was left open. Late last night our furry subject decided to remove Robin from his bin and commence to play with him. Now Robin has a new look As you can tell, Robin had one hella of a night. At this point SuperMom snapped and had had enough. I am not sure if it was because of the trauma poor Robin went through or because she was going to have to explain to the teacher what happened to Robin. Luckily for us, his teacher is great and was ok with everything. I ordered a new Robin last night, but his teacher was even OK with getting the original Robin back with a bandage or two present. I am not sure how you surgically reattach an eye though. On a more comical event dealing with DP. Yesterday, SuperMom had to take him out of school for a doctor's appointment. Upon him getting in the car, SuperMom asked if he was missing anything epic. Of course, she was referring to school stuff that he would be missing. However, DP is used to us asking if he is missing something in front of him (lunchbox, shoes, etc). He looked at SuperMom and said "You did your hair, but I am not sure I would call it epic". As Larry the Cable Guy says "That is funny, I don't care who you are. |
