Still catching up to help the reviewers in the Valley. So my subjects are very unique. Some times we offer them rewards for doing something great. One thing I do is reward DP for maximum effort during football practice. We have this thing where if he has a great week of practice, he can get a cookie and cream shake from Chic Fil A one night a week. So we are often eating at Chic Fil A. The other subjects have realized that some days DP gets a shake. So, when I call to see if I need to pick up dinner and inform SuperMom that I will pick up Chic Fil A for DP, Jr, and myself and ask them what they might want and from where; now the other two say "if you are getting a shake, I want one too". So, I end up buying three shakes on those days about half of the time. DP does not like this. He doesn't understand why they are getting a shake for doing nothing. I once said that Jr had been doing his homework very well lately, so DP says "Great, I can get a shake every day if that is the rule". He commented the last time I got all three a shake, that Lu hasn't done anything, why is she getting a shake. Apparently, he doesn't want to share the shake deal. No Shake For You in his best Soup Nazi voice. So much for trying to teach them to share. I guess you must earn the shake in his eyes.

So most of you know that the lovely Lu is the vocal one. She sings, she talks, she whistles, she never stops. She will talk to anyone that will listen. Many times while I am driving with her, she has been telling me a story for 30 minutes and I have no clue what she is talking about. Well, Jr has also inherited the talkative gene. He never stops. Pokeman this, soccer that, etc. He talks to strangers like they are family. Now that the subjects are all doing something every evening, either Supermom or I am often alone with one of the subjects while we wait on the others to finish their activity. On Thursday, DP and I were at football, while Lu was at rowing. SuperMom picked Jr up from gymnastics and was killing time. So they went to Starbucks to do some homework and enjoy their beverages. At the restaurant (you like how I spelled one of DP's words correctly right there) there was a couple with a pair of dogs. So Jr found out they were named Chloe and Evie. He proceeded to tell them how that was some weird names and that we had Chihuahuas too. Ours were Braxton and Caesar. Braxton was old and dead. Caesar was old and hard of hearing and seeing. I sure SuperMom was wondering when he was going to direct them to our gold. Eventually, they had to leave to pick up Lu. As he was leaving Jr told SuperMom, "now we can mark Starbucks and Ellie Lou's off our list, where are we going next week?". They never stop saying something different. So it has been brought to my attention that I have not been properly documenting my experiment with the subjects. I have failed to enter information into the journal at a timely manner. I plan to fix that today for my reviewers in the Valley. The first entry with focus on DP. So three weeks ago, school started for the three subjects. DP started third grade. I help SuperMom with the homework when it is in my lane or when I am available. So that means math stuff or computer stuff or presentations. However, this year I started working with DP on his spelling words. I call them out of Thursday night so he will be ready for his test on Friday. Words like repetition, independent, ought, temperature, restaurant, calendar, losing, lying, and more similar to these. After the first week, I was starting to think, Damn I don't remember third grade words being like this. What happened to "can, boat, truck, etc". So week two is a repeat of week one. More words that are difficult to spell. DP struggled with a word here and there, but made a 100 on all his tests. Then, the teacher sent an email out saying that so far they have been using a list of the 250 most misspelled words in the English language. Additionally, she stated that going forward the students will be able to pick between two lists. One from the 250 and one from the normal 3rd grade words. Of course DP being an overachiever picked the difficult words. I would have picked the other list. He is still perfect on his spelling tests. The issue is that I have to look at about half of the words on the page to make sure that he is spelling them correctly, because I am not sure how to spell them. Oh well, at least I can say I helped him become the genius he will become when he is older. That helps a little when you realize that your eight year old is smarter than you already. I did have a good run though, but there is a new sheriff in town now. I won't let on any time soon. FYI, I had to look up three words while writing this update.
