Yesterday, the family took a road trip to visit some family for Christmas. It is a three hour drive each way. We left in the morning and returned yesterday evening. I drove, SuperMom was co-pilot and the three kids were in the back watching movies, sleeping, or just behaving. On the way back, traffic was crawling for about 60 miles which basically added another hour to our trip. So, we stopped at a gas station for gas and a break. I pumped gas while Jr was still in the car and SuperMom, Lu, and DP went into the truck stop gas station. After pumping gas, Jr and I went in too. I round the corner and DP and Lu are each sitting in these massage chairs shaking from the vibrations of the chairs going. SuperMom is supervising. I go to the restroom and return and they have the biggest, goofiest grins on their faces as they vibrate back and forth. Now while I am waiting on these two clowns to finish their massages, about 10 big burly trucker guys come in and have to pass these chairs to go to the restroom. Each and every one of them laughed and reproduced the same goofy grins as DP and Lu had. Of course this makes me and SuperMom laugh. During this time Jr gets in Lu's lap to ride out the rest of the massage.
We get our drinks and head to the counter with everyone happy. The cashier is a lovely middle aged lady. She talks to the kids and asks questions, etc. At this point DP looks at SuperMom and says "She has a golden tooth" describing the gold tooth the lady has. Not a gold tooth, but a "golden tooth". Who says golden tooth? It was loud enough for the lady to hear but she seemed to think it was funny. SuperMom said "yes she does" and explained about it. Then DP states "I want a golden tooth like hers". So if you see a seven year old running around with a "golden" grill, it is probably DP.
These are the adventures we go through by just leaving out neighborhood.
