About 11 years ago, I decided along with my wife to start a grand experiment that thousands of others have completed multiple times in the past. That experiment is raising children. The subjects did not volunteer, but are willing participants just the same. The first is my lovely daughter who is almost 11 years old (Lu). The second is my son (DP) who is seven, and finally my youngest son (Jr) who is five.
I plan on just relaying some funny things, at least from a physicist's point of view, we experience as we try to raise them.
My first story will tell you about the personally of DP, the literal child, who is most likely to follow in my footsteps. Earlier in the year, my wife, SuperMom, was at the park with DP, when a new neighbor introduced himself and his son, Tommy. SuperMom called DP over, and the neighbor asked "Have you met my son Tommy?". DP replies "Where would I have met him? I have never seen him before in my life". SuperMom explains that the neighbor was just introducing his son Tommy. DP replies, Why didn't he just say this is my son Tommy?". The mind of a 7 year old.
