DP who is 7 is able to read and analyze a lot of adult situations. However, he some times gets things a little mixed up. For example, earlier this year he was riding in the car with SuperMom and yelled out "Look at that guying driving and smoking a joint". I am not sure where he heard the word joint or from who. However, he clearly misunderstood the meaning of the word. SuperMom asked "where?", probably with a little of fear in her voice. DP pointed and said "that guy". SuperMom replied, "he isn't smoking a joint. He is holding a cigarette." DP replied "yeah a joint!". Now if you know DP, you will realize that he is very confident in his intelligence and his knowledge of stuff. He assumes he is right and will not take your answer for fact unless you explain why he is wrong. So SuperMom explained to DP what a joint really was and the matter was resolved.
Later that night SuperMom was explaining to me the issue with the joint and DP. Of course, I only had one reply. "Why are you taking my kid places where they are smoking joints?"
